The boys at Art House Co-op are hosting a free project of 4x6 artworks (no frames, please) to be added to the Brooklyn Art Library permanent collection, as part of a gigantic cataloging process. Neat!
About the Permanent Collection: "The Brooklyn Art Library is set up to be a place where you can send lovers of your work, fans of yours, or just family and friends to come "check out" your work. In the coming months we will start categorizing every piece of artwork we have from you. When someone comes in and asks for work by you, we will be able to pull everything we have by you and show them. This free project is a great way to add to it!"

- Apr 08, 10I'm usually not into girly-ness (flowers, butterflies, pink, etc.), but these headbands are pretty swell and I love the shop name {'allora' is a common Italian conjoiner, kind of like English 'so...' or 'well, then...'}

- Apr 02, 10I always thought I was the only one on this earth who watched Dark Shadows re-runs on the SciFi channel as a tween, but apparently even this obscure late 60s blood-sucker soap won't escape the modern remake mill, and of course fits right in with the current trend. [Read/listen to an interesting theory on vampires in pop culture history from NPR] Rumor has it the dynamic duo of Burton/Depp will be holing up in the Collinwood estate to produce a new Dark Shadows for 2011 and begin shooting this fall.
Though Alice in Wonderland left me feeling decidedly 'meh', I am strangely looking forward to this. Perhaps it gives some sort of justification to those hours of watching bad acting, holey plots and wretched 70s hairdos and costumes. If nothing else, it will be a good laugh. - Apr 02, 10
